The ICT provision will be an important tool in realising the Vision for Joseph Rowntree School.

The school will use ICT to transform learning and teaching; raise standards significantly; give access to students; parents & carers and the community; increase the efficiency of communication, management, administration; and ensure safety for the building and its users.

The ICT philosophy is that ICT will be easy to use, liked, useful, robust and complementary to other forms of learning. Students, staff and others will have access to a high speed, reliable network infrastructure supporting a wide range oflearning tools as well as information and management tools such as timetables and educational records. These will be accessible from anywhere and at any time.

Functional ICT will serve our Science specialism, school ethos and other approaches to learning.ICT will be integrated into the buildings and our daily operational management. The aim will be to achieve a ‘smartbuilding’ which is both highly responsive and efficient but also supports the environmental and ethical aims of the school.

Every child matters to us and we shall ensure the systems are in place to support this agenda.
