Who are they?

The 'friends' are pleased to let you know that we now have a new committee and a large band of enthusiastic volunteers who are all very keen to make the friends a good fund raising group and also an effective channel of communication between parents and school.

What do they do?

The friends have, for some years, raised funds by serving refreshments at the evening classes held at Joseph Rowntree School . The money raised has been used to provide a variety of extra equipment for school (e.g. kit for sports teams, equipment for Year 11 social club etc). We are hoping to continue this 'tea bar' and also to try other ways of fund raising.

How can I get involved?

You could help in the 'tea bar', which is usually only an hour on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, perhaps once a term... You could give us some brilliant ideas for fund raising activities...You could let us know how you think parents could be more involved in the life of the school
